About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for talented individuals to join the News and Current Affairs division as Intern Bulletin Writers/Readers and Current Affairs Producers/Presenters. This internship is ideal for aspiring journalists eager to contribute to Afrikaans news and current affairs programming, gaining invaluable practical experience in a professional broadcasting environment.
As part of this team, you’ll help produce and broadcast newsworthy, engaging, accurate, and fair Afrikaans current affairs content for the target audience.
Key Responsibilities

Initiate and produce Afrikaans news and current affairs content as assigned

Collaborate closely with producers who will provide support and guidance as needed

Identify, research, brainstorm, plan, record, and produce compelling Afrikaans current affairs stories
-
Plan and deliver Afrikaans current affairs stories and programme content
-
Conduct field research, archival research, and other investigative work
-
Conduct interviews and Q&A sessions in both Afrikaans and English
-
Write, script, voice, and package Afrikaans stories for broadcast
-
Deliver Afrikaans current affairs content and programmes within deadlines
-
Build and maintain networks and professional contacts in the news industry
-
Engage professionally with the target audience to enhance and promote news and current affairs content
-
Adhere to South Africa’s Constitution, all relevant broadcasting legislation, ICASA regulations, BCCSA Code of Conduct, SABC editorial policies, and news style guides
Description :
Minimum Requirements
• National Diploma / NQF 6 in Journalism, Media Studies, or an equivalent relevant qualification
• Ability to write, read, and translate fluently in Afrikaans and English
