About the Opportunity
eThekwini Municipality is inviting applications from enthusiastic and qualified graduates with no prior work experience to take part in its Work Experience Programme 2025/2026 in the field of Health Sciences. This opportunity is aimed at equipping young professionals with valuable workplace exposure and hands-on training to enhance their career prospects in public health environments.
The programme is part of the Municipality’s broader commitment to skills development, youth empowerment, and inclusive growth. Successful applicants will be placed within the Community Development Projects Branch, where they will gain meaningful experience contributing to community wellness and development.
Fields of Study Considered
Applicants should have completed qualifications in the following Health Science fields:

Environmental Health
-
Enrolled Nursing / Nursing Science
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Must be South African citizens.
-
Be in possession of a recognized tertiary qualification or N6 Certificate (for TVET students seeking Work Integrated Learning for Nated Diploma completion).

Qualifications must be no older than five years.
-
Must not have participated in any Government or Private Sector Internship, WIL, Learnership, or In-service Programme for 12 months or longer.

Demonstrate a commitment to learning and an interest in health-related public service roles.
