About the Opportunity

Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine invites applications for the Diesel Mechanic Learnership, aimed at providing learners with both institutional training and practical workplace exposure. This learnership equips participants to earn an Artisan qualification at NQF Levels 3–4, aligning with the skills needs of the mining and engineering industries.

Preference will be given to historically disadvantaged South Africans. Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine is committed to applying affirmative action principles as outlined in its Employment Equity Policy.

Key Responsibilities

As a Diesel Mechanic Learner, you will:

Adhere to all legislative requirements outlined in the learning agreement
Participate in a structured apprenticeship programme combining classroom learning with on-the-job training
Demonstrate increasing competence and ability in your trade throughout the three-year learnership duration
Engage in progressively challenging tasks to build knowledge and practical skills
Take responsibility for understanding your trade and applying your skills to support the employer’s productivity needs

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

- Minimum Grade 12 with:

Mathematics
Natural Science

- N2 Certificate with 4 trade-specific subjects
