About the Opportunity

Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine invites applications for the 18.2 Rigger Learnership, designed to provide learners with both institutional training and hands-on workplace experience. This learnership helps participants earn an Artisan qualification at NQF Levels 3–4, equipping them with practical skills and knowledge for a successful career in the mining and engineering industries.

Preference will be given to historically disadvantaged South Africans. Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine applies affirmative action principles in line with its Employment Equity Policy.

Key Responsibilities

As a Rigger Learner, you will:

Adhere to all legislative requirements outlined in the learning agreement
Take responsibility for learning and understanding your trade, applying your skills to support workplace productivity
Actively participate in your own development by asking questions and seeking knowledge
Demonstrate required competence and skills in line with apprenticeship requirements over the three-year learnership duration
Engage in progressively challenging tasks that combine classroom learning with practical, on-the-job training
Contribute to meeting industry standards for the rigging trade occupation

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

- Minimum Grade 12 with:

Mathematics
Natural Science

- N2 Certificate with 4 trade-specific subjects
