Purpose of the Role

This learnership programme offers learners both classroom-based education and practical workplace experience to help them achieve an Artisan qualification at NQF Level 3 or 4. The programme supports the operational needs of Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine and ensures that learners receive proper guidance and training to successfully complete both on-the-job and off-the-job learning required for their apprenticeship.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all laws and requirements detailed in the Learning Agreement.

• Gain full understanding of the trade, build the necessary skills, and work productively to support the employer’s operations.

• Take ownership of personal learning by asking questions and seeking help when needed.

• Show the required competence and skill development according to apprenticeship standards within the 3-year period.

• Participate in a structured programme combining classroom lessons with practical, hands-on work, gradually progressing through more challenging tasks to meet industry requirements.

 

Qualifications

• Minimum of Grade 12 with Maths and Natural Science, OR an N2 Certificate with four trade-specific subjects.
