We are offering an exciting opportunity for three Sales Assistant Graduates to join our Sales team as part of our graduate programme. This internship will provide practical work experience and the chance to contribute to key business projects from day one.
Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this internship is to support the Sales Division in implementing business initiatives and programmes aligned with SABC’s objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates with a National Diploma in Office Administration or related fields who want to develop their skills and gain workplace experience in a dynamic environment.
About the Team
Interns will provide support to the entire Sales & Marketing function, working closely with the Provincial Sales Manager and Account Executives to help maximize revenue and ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain internal and external networks for efficient service delivery.

Answer telephone calls and assist clients.

Direct sales leads to appropriate sales team members.

Liaise with clients regarding enquiries, purchase orders, and vendor documentation.

Respond to emails and other correspondence.

Follow up on materials and flighting instructions.
-
Promote and sell SABC products and services.
-
Explain promotional offers to clients.
-
Liaise with internal stakeholders for sales and after-sales processes.

Assist with trade marketing initiatives as needed.
-
Update and maintain client databases.
-
Accurately store and retrieve information and documents.
-
Ensure client data accuracy in collaboration with Account Executives.

Process SAP purchase requisitions and service entry sheets.
-
Arrange travel (flights, accommodation, car hire) for staff via SAP.
-
Order departmental stationery using SAP.
-
Handle and escalate client queries and complaints.
-
Answer questions regarding platforms and services.
-
Retrieve audio/visual material and forward to Account Executives.

Collect data from internal stakeholders and compile quarterly sales meeting reports and presentations.

Track and report on sales expenses.
-
Retrieve figures for sales reports and daily/weekly tracking of bookings.

Prepare deal management documents and secure required signatures (e.g. term sheets).

Organize meetings, workshops, events, and conferences.

Schedule quarterly review appointments.

Take and distribute meeting minutes.

Manage filing, scanning, and email tasks.
-
Assist with departmental budget management, including reallocating funds for travel, stationery, and refreshments.

Liaise with procurement for departmental needs.

Manage diaries for team members.

Minimum Requirements

National Diploma (NQF 6) in Marketing, Communications, Sales, or a related tertiary qualification.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.
