About the Programme

The Mpumalanga Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs is inviting applications from unemployed South African graduates for its 24-month Internship Programme in Structured Agricultural Training.

This programme offers practical work exposure in the agricultural sector and aims to help graduates build valuable skills and experience. Applicants must not have previously participated in any internship programme.

Preference will be given to candidates who will promote representivity in terms of race, gender, and disability. Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Interns will:

Gain practical experience in either Animal Production or Crop Production depending on placement.
Assist technical teams in various agricultural activities and projects.
Contribute to agricultural data collection, reporting, and analysis.
Participate in departmental training sessions and workshops.
Support district-based projects and agricultural extension services.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in Crop and Animal Production or an equivalent agricultural qualification.
Willingness to work in the field and travel as needed.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Commitment to learning and professional development.
