About the Programme

The Mpumalanga Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs invites applications from unemployed South African graduates for its 24-month Agri-Business Internship Programme.

This internship offers valuable work experience in agricultural economics and agri-business development, helping graduates build practical skills for future employment. Applicants must not have participated in any previous internship programme.

The Department aims to promote representivity in terms of race, gender, and disability. Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Interns will:

Assist in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of agri-business data.
Support agricultural economic studies and market research.
Help compile reports and presentations related to agri-business activities.
Contribute to the development of strategies for agricultural business growth.
Participate in departmental projects focused on agricultural economics and rural development.
Perform administrative tasks as required to support agri-business operations.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics or an equivalent qualification in the field.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Computer literacy, particularly in MS Office applications.
