About the Programme

This 2-year internship opportunity is designed for unemployed South African graduates who are interested in gaining practical experience in strategic planning, policy analysis, and research.

Hosted by the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs (DARDLEA), the programme helps graduates build skills in public sector planning and policy implementation.

Applicants must not have participated in any previous internship programme.
The department encourages applications from women and persons with disabilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

As an intern, you will:

• Assist in the development and review of departmental strategic plans and policies

• Support the collection and analysis of data for planning and reporting

• Help compile annual and quarterly performance reports

• Conduct research on sector-related trends and best practices

• Support departmental planning sessions and workshops

• Help with administrative duties related to planning and policy

 

Minimum Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in:

  • Public Management

  • Public Administration

  • Development Studies

  • Political Science or a related field

• Strong writing and analytical skills

• Ability to work with data and compile reports

• Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Interest in government planning, development, and policy-making
