About the Opportunity

Sekhukhune District Municipality is offering five (5) internship positions in the Budget and Treasury Department. This 2-year programme is designed to provide practical training and workplace exposure to recent graduates in the fields of accounting and finance.

The internship aims to empower young professionals through structured learning while contributing to municipal financial operations.

Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualification:

National Diploma or BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance

Computer Literacy:

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)

Experience:

No prior work experience required – this opportunity is open to recent graduates.

Core Responsibilities

Finance Interns will assist the department with tasks such as:

Supporting the development of financial policies and procedures
Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and management reports
Capturing financial data electronically
Supporting financial reconciliations and analyses
Performing additional financial tasks as delegated by senior staff

Employment Conditions

Successful applicants will be required to:

Sign an employment contract
Enter into a performance agreement
Disclose financial interests where applicable
Undergo security vetting and competency assessments, if needed
