About the Opportunity
The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA), a Sector Education and Training Authority under the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), invites applications for a 24-month internship opportunity within its Learning Programmes Operations Unit.
The internship is open to unemployed South African citizens who have not previously participated in any internship programme. The selected candidate will report to the Senior Manager: Learning Programmes Operations and gain practical exposure in areas related to skills development, stakeholder engagement, and programme administration.
Minimum Requirements

Matric / Grade 12 certificate
-
A National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in:
-
Human Resources Development / Management
-
Public Administration / Management
-
Training or similar field
-
-
A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in the above areas will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities
Interns will receive training and work experience in the following areas:
-
Administration of artisan and non-artisan learnerships
-
Learner enrolment in OHS, FLC, AET, RPL, ARPL, and Artisan Aides projects
-
Receiving, verifying, and capturing learning programme agreements
-
Scanning and uploading documents into the SIMS database (MQA’s Management Information System)
-
Assisting with event coordination (workshops, meetings, etc.)

Providing professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
-
Supporting the team with travel arrangements, filing, and document control
-
Liaising with various stakeholders in the skills development ecosystem

Performing other duties as assigned by the management team

Basic understanding of education and skills development legislation

Able to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks

Computer literacy, especially in MS Office Suite
