Internship Opportunity: Communications

The Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) is offering an internship opportunity for a Communications Intern to be based at its Head Office in Braamfontein. The internship aims to provide valuable work experience to a graduate in the field of Communications or Journalism. This opportunity is intended for individuals who are passionate about communication, public engagement, and gender equality.

Please note: Interns will be responsible for their own transportation to the office. There is no guarantee of employment upon completion of the programme.

Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Journalism or Communications.
Must be a South African citizen residing in Gauteng.
Aged between 18 and 35 years.
Must not have previously been employed.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Editing and content creation skills will be advantageous.
Basic computer literacy is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Communications team in day-to-day tasks.
Assist in drafting, editing, and publishing internal and external communications.
Participate in media and stakeholder engagement activities.
Provide administrative support to the Communications department.
Help organize and document public events and campaigns.
