About the Internship

MANCOSA is offering an exciting 12-month Auditing Internship opportunity for recent graduates in Accounting. The internship is designed to give you hands-on experience in different areas of internal auditing — including financial audits, operational reviews, IT controls, fraud investigations, and compliance checks.

You’ll work closely with experienced auditors and learn how to apply auditing techniques while following ethical standards, company policies, and our Risk Management Framework. This is your chance to gain in-depth exposure to auditing in the corporate environment.

 

What You Will Learn and Do

Audit Focus Areas

• Financial statements auditing

• Payments, revenue, and receipts analysis

• Payroll and taxation (EMP201 & EMP501)

• Employment Tax Incentive (ETI) checks

• Stock take and inventory control

• Risk assessment and ad hoc audit projects

Functional Duties

• Assist in preparing internal control frameworks

• Perform initial risk assessments and rate identified risks

• Conduct walk-throughs of internal processes

• Execute control tests and document findings

• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls

• Identify weaknesses and recommend improvements

• Address queries raised during audit reviews

• Complete assigned audit tasks and meet deadlines

• Use audit sampling methods under supervision

• Document and extrapolate testing results

• Follow company policies, internal controls, and legal compliance standards

• Work on special projects as assigned

• Submit daily progress reports

• Collaborate with colleagues across departments

What You Need to Apply

Qualifications

• A completed BCom in Accounting, with a focus on Auditing

• No prior working experience required

Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills

• Good written and verbal communication

• High attention to detail and integrity

• Ability to travel if necessary

• Ability to work well in a team
