About the Programme
uMzinyathi District Municipality, an equal opportunity employer, is inviting suitably qualified graduates to apply for its 2-year Financial Internship Programme. This initiative aims to provide unemployed graduates with valuable exposure to municipal finance management and compliance with the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA).
The programme is ideal for graduates looking to gain hands-on experience, develop financial management skills, and prepare for long-term career opportunities in local government finance.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Grade 12 certificate.

Degree/National Diploma in Financial Management or equivalent qualification.
-
Computer literacy (MS Office and financial systems).
-
Good verbal and written communication skills.
-
Fluency in IsiZulu and English.
Key Responsibilities / Duties
The appointed interns will be required to assist in:

Implementing the Municipal Financial Management Act (MFMA).
-
Compiling financial statements, budgets, and management reports.
-
Performing reconciliations and financial analysis.
-
Capturing financial data and other related line functions electronically.
