The Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities (DWYPD) plays a leading role in promoting socio-economic transformation and driving empowerment and participation of women, youth, and persons with disabilities across South Africa. The Department focuses on mainstreaming, advocacy, monitoring, and evaluation to advance equal opportunities and inclusivity in society.

As part of its mandate, the Department is inviting applications from unemployed graduates to participate in its 24-month Internship Programme for the period 2025–2027. These opportunities aim to provide practical workplace experience, build professional skills, and prepare young people for future employment in government and related sectors.

Who Should Apply?

South African citizens who are unemployed graduates.
Applicants who have never participated in an internship programme in any government department or public entity.
Candidates who hold the relevant qualifications as specified under each post.

Application Guidelines

Applications must be submitted on the new Z83 form. (available below).
Only a signed Z83 form and a detailed CV are required at the initial stage. Do not attach copies of qualifications unless shortlisted.

Important Notes

Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies of qualifications and supporting documents.
Non-RSA citizens or permanent residents must provide valid documentation (SAQA evaluation where applicable).
The Department will conduct security vetting and reserves the right not to make an appointment.
Preference will be given to Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities in line with the Employment Equity Act and Section 195 of the Constitution.
If you do not hear from the Department within three (3) months of the closing date, kindly consider your application unsuccessful.
