About the Programme

Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited invites applications for its Internship and P1/P2 Experiential Learning Programme for 2025. These opportunities are aimed at unemployed graduates and students who require workplace exposure to complete their qualifications.

The programme is designed to provide practical work experience, mentorship, and professional development across various mining disciplines. Applicants from local communities in which Harmony operates, as well as children of Harmony employees, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Doornkop:

• Mining Engineering, Rock Engineering, Metallurgy, Geology

• Human Resources, Finance, Community Development Studies

• Communications, Social Science with Psychology

• P1/P2: Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Metallurgy

Joel:

• Mining Engineering, Mine Survey, Mine Planner, Human Resources, Finance

Kalgold:

• Analytical Chemistry, Geology

Kusasalethu:

• Mining Engineering, Rock Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy

Masimong:

• Analytical Chemistry, Human Resources

Moab Khotsong (incl. Great Noligwa):

• Mining Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Metallurgy, Rock Engineering, Geology, Human Resources, Finance

Mponeng (incl. Services):

• Mining Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Metallurgy, Rock Engineering, Geology, Human Resources, Finance, Health & Safety

Eligibility Criteria

• Open to South African citizens only, under the age of 35 years.

• Applicants must reside in the listed districts.

• Only graduates and diplomates with a completed tertiary qualification obtained from an accredited South African institution will be considered.

• Students applying for internships must not have previously participated in any similar programme.

• Students applying for P1/P2 Experiential Learning must provide a letter from their institution confirming the requirement for workplace exposure.

 

Required Documents

• Certified copy of South African ID.

• Certified copies of qualifications or academic records.

• Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).

• Proof of residence (water & lights account or signed affidavit).

• Children of Harmony employees must provide proof of parent’s employment (copy of clock card or employee number).

 

Additional Information

• Exposure periods will vary depending on the discipline.

• Only short-listed candidates will be contacted within 14 days after the closing date.

• Incomplete applications will not be considered.
