Graduate Internship Programme

The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), an agency of the Department of Trade, Industry, and Competition (the dtic), is committed to supporting youth skills development. As part of this initiative, CIPC invites applications for its 24-month IT Internship Programme, based at its Sunnyside Office in Pretoria.

What is an Internship?

An internship is a public service graduate work experience programme, introduced by Cabinet in December 2002. It provides unemployed graduates with an opportunity to gain workplace exposure and apply the skills they acquired in their studies.

Eligibility

The programme is open to:

Unemployed South African graduates who have completed a Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields.
Graduates who have not yet had formal work experience.
Individuals who have never participated in a public service internship programme.
Applicants between the ages of 18 and 35.

Remuneration

A monthly stipend of R12,000 will be offered for the duration of the internship.
Successful applicants will be required to sign a Graduate Internship Programme Agreement.

Applicants must upload a comprehensive CV and academic transcript with their application.
SA citizenship and qualifications will be verified. Candidates with foreign qualifications must provide evaluation from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews at a time and place determined by CIPC.
