About the Apprenticeship Programme

Standerton Oil Mills, part of COFCO International, is offering an exciting Fitter & Electrical Apprenticeship Programme designed for energetic and ambitious individuals who want to develop technical skills in mechanical and electrical fitting.

This structured apprenticeship combines hands-on training, technical education, and mentorship to prepare participants for a successful career as skilled artisans.
Local youth from the Lekwa area are strongly encouraged to apply.

 

Key Responsibilities

As an apprentice, you will:

• Assist qualified Fitters and Electrical Fitters with maintenance, repairs, and installation of industrial machinery.

• Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering schematics.

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance under supervision.

• Follow all safety standards and company operating procedures.

• Attend both theoretical and practical training sessions as part of your learning journey.

 

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Matric / Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science

• N2 Certificate or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (advantageous)

• Must pass internal competency assessments

• Proof of residential address

• Preference will be given to South African youth under the age of 35
