Programme Purpose

The Procurement Trainee Programme is designed to develop future leaders who will drive growth, efficiency, and innovation within our procurement function — the heartbeat of our supply chain.

Procurement ensures that AB InBev has the materials, goods, and services needed to brew and distribute world-class beverages — all while optimizing cost, quality, and sustainability.

 

Programme Structure

This highly competitive programme consists of two progressive phases:

  • Phase 1 (Band VIII): 9 months of foundational learning and project experience

  • Phase 2 (Band VII): 12–18 months of advanced training and leadership exposure

Progression between phases depends on performance evaluations and development milestones.

The programme follows the 70-20-10 learning model:

  • 70% from real-world projects and hands-on experience

  • 20% from mentorship and peer collaboration

  • 10% from structured coursework and training

 

Key Responsibilities

As a Procurement Trainee, you will:

  • Contribute to strategic procurement projects across multiple categories

  • Support category managers and directors in implementing key sourcing initiatives

  • Identify and drive cost-saving opportunities and process improvements

  • Conduct market and supplier analysis to inform sourcing strategies

  • Evaluate product requirements and recommend optimized solutions

  • Apply the 8-step sourcing methodology to procurement processes

  • Prepare data-driven reports and business recommendations

 

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field

  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analytics tools

  • A strategic and conceptual mindset

  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently

  • A collaborative and growth-oriented attitude
