Position Overview

The municipality invites applications for two (2) Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme positions within the Finance Directorate. This structured 24-month programme offers graduates the opportunity to gain practical experience in municipal finance, budgeting, and treasury operations while developing key professional skills.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric)
A three-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma with majors in:
- Auditing
- Financial Accounting
- Risk Management (or related field)
Applicants must be between 21 and 35 years old

Key Responsibilities

Participate in the Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMIP), designed to provide high-quality training and exposure to all aspects of municipal budgeting and treasury operations.
Gain hands-on experience guided by the Municipal Finance Management Act (Act 56 of 2003).
Engage in structured learning aligned with the Municipal Minimum Competency Regulations (Gazette 29967 of June 2007).
Commit to the full 24-month internship agreement, which includes educational sessions, workplace assignments, and adherence to municipal policies and procedures.
