About the Programme
The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), a proud member of the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic), is committed to developing young South African talent. This Graduate Internship Programme in Innovation and Collaboration provides graduates with hands-on exposure to innovative projects, collaborative problem-solving, and software development initiatives in a government setting.
The programme is designed to give graduates the opportunity to apply their technical skills in a professional environment, gain practical work experience, and enhance their career readiness in the tech and innovation sector.
What is an Internship?
As defined by Cabinet in December 2002, this internship is a public service graduate work experience programme targeting unemployed graduates. It allows participants to practice and expand their academic knowledge while gaining exposure to workplace dynamics.
Eligibility:

South African graduates aged 18–35 years.

Applicants with a degree or National Diploma in Computer Science, with a focus on software development and programming, achieving a minimum aggregate of 75% or above.

Candidates who have participated in at least one hackathon.

Graduates without prior work experience or previous participation in CIPC internship programmes.
Benefits and Remuneration

Monthly stipend of R12,000.

Note: Successful candidates will be required to sign a Graduate Internship Programme Agreement.
