Programme Overview:
Valterra Platinum’s Chemical Engineering Internship Programme is designed to provide graduates with hands-on experience in their field of study while fostering personal and professional growth. The 12-month internship allows candidates to gain practical exposure within a high-performance, values-led environment at the Amandelbult Complex in Thabazimbi.
The internship is ideal for motivated graduates who want to develop a strong foundation in chemical engineering within the mining sector. Candidates will engage in meaningful work, working alongside experienced engineers and technical teams to support operational excellence, efficiency, and innovation in the chemical processes at the mine.
Who Should Apply:

Preference is given to applicants from host communities, employees’ beneficiaries, and individuals with disabilities.

Host communities include: Baphalane Ba Mantserre, Bakgatla Ba Kgafela, Baphalane Ba Ramokoka, Thabazimbi, and Moses Kotane Municipality.

Beneficiaries of employees include family members financially dependent on the employee, registered with the pension/provident fund, including spouses, partners, children, parents, or siblings. Documentation will be required for beneficiaries with different surnames.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with chemical engineering operations under supervision.

Support process optimization, monitoring, and safety compliance within the chemical plant.

Participate in technical projects and contribute to team initiatives.

Gain practical experience in process management, chemical reactions, and industrial equipment operations.

Attend learning sessions, workshops, and evaluations as part of the structured programme.

Adhere to all safety protocols and Valterra Platinum’s operational standards.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

National Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, BTech, or Honours Degree in Chemical Engineering.

Must be able to undergo a Medical Fitness Test and assessments.

Residents of host communities or beneficiaries of employees must provide relevant supporting documentation.
